Going through a divorce or even contemplating divorce is probably one of the most painful but also most stressful moments in a person’s life.

It’s not only the break up of the relationship, but now you may be facing money problems, moving out of your home, selling your home, and of course starting a new life.

It’s no wonder so many facing divorce state they experience high levels of stress that takes a toll on their life.

Stress can lead to depression, problems at work, inability to eat, sleep, or sometimes even think- a complete toll on your body emotionally, mentally, and physically.

But you can take action to minimize the effects and learn to manage stress through the art of yoga.

Yoga is has been a common trend for the last couple of years but has actually been around for thousands of years. According to a Harvard study, “yoga appears to modulate stress response systems…[which] in turn reduces the heart rate, lowering blood pressure, and easing respiration.”

For beginners, I recommend Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, or Yin Yoga- all contain simple but effective movements and breathing exercises that anyone can do. In Austin, there are so many yoga studios to choose from- pick one! Or YouTube anyone of these! Here’s one I like.

Commit to at least twice a week and you will begin to see the results.
